Anatomy of the Industry’s Leading RO Systems – AQUA-SEP® Fresh Water Generators

1. NEMA-4X Electrical Control Panel:
Weatherproof electrical components for long lasting performance, including NEMA-4X fiberglass or epoxy coated carbon steel control panel enclosures with combination starter with motor overload protection, lights, switches, push buttons and main non-fused disconnect. Larger size AQUA-SEP control panels include programmable logic controllers (PLC) and panel view interface for easy operation and control of the RO unit operation.

2. Pretreatment Multi-Media Filtration:
Multi-Media Filter Assembly with a FRP vessel loaded with anthracite / sand and graded media complete with automatic or manual backwash and rinse operations control. Removes suspended solids of 25 microns and larger to protect the feed pump and the membrane elements.

3. Cartridge Filter:
In-line cartridge filter elements and polypropylene material remove suspended solids 5 microns and larger for increased protection of the feed pump and membrane elements.

4. Membrane-Cleaner Tank:
AQUA-SEP RO units come standard with an integral “Clean-In-Place” (CIP) membrane cleaning system (MCS). Integral MCS includes a cleaning solution and mixing polyethylene tank with plastic cover for easy access and cleaning of membrane elements, reducing downtime of the RO system.

5. High Pressure Booster Pump:
Stainless Steel positive displacement high pressure pumps on AQUA-SEP Series 1, 2 and 3 systems and Duplex Stainless Steel 2205 multi-stage centrifugal pumps on Series 4 systems, provides the seawater feed flow and the high pressure needed by the RO membrane elements. Pumps are driven by high efficiency, marine duty, TEFC motors.

6. Vibration Mounts:
Vibration isolation mounts absorb pump vibrations and protect system components and reduce noise level.

7. Pulsation Dampener:
The positive displacement pumps include Stainless Steel Pulsation Dampener and Stainless Steel Relief Valves to reduce pulsation, reduce noise, provide smother operation of the RO system and protect system components.

8. Membrane Elements:
High quality spiral-wound semi-permeable polyamide, thin film composite (TFC), reverse osmosis membrane elements, removes dissolved solids and inorganic molecules from sea or brackish water to produce fresh quality potable water.

9. Salinity Monitor:
State of the art, digital salinity monitor, complete with alarm output, to automatically divert high salinity permeate water to overboard, via solenoid valve. This guarantees the production of potable water that is compatible with the World Health Organization (WHO) guidelines with salinity of less than or equal to 500 ppm TDS, for human consumption.
